June 3, 2023 - Gettysburg EAA Pancake Breakfast |
||||||
EAA Chapter 1041 was hosting a pancake breakfast at Gettysburg Airport so a bunch of us flew on over Saturday morning. After a short 20 minute flight to Gettysburg, we were soon in the main hangar chowing down on scrambled eggs, pancakes, home fries and sausage in the main hangar. From left to right: Chuck, Mugsy, Dave, his son Chuck, and Nhu-An on the right.
EAA Chapter 1041 has quite an assembly line going. On the left, not visible, is their famous circulator pancake grill.

A good look at the vittles. |
||||||
A good number of planes flew in but more people drove in I think. The all-you-can-eat, delicious breakfast is a very good value for ten bucks so it make sense they had a good crowd.

A look behind the counter.
This glider was on downwind when we arrived. (We did a 360 to give him time to time to land and get pulled off the runway). I figure he must have glided over from nearby Mid-Atlantic Soaring Center Airport (W73). Here, he is about to get towed back up.

Dave's RV-4. It used to have a camouflage paint scheme with shark mouth nose but he has stripped it with a future paintjob planned. I think he ought to fly it to Oshkosh exactly like this!

Chuck's bird with it's new three-bladed prop and checkerboard stripe.
When Mugsy landed, there were lots of planes on that grass but by now they have all bugged out except him.
